Andrew Ghrist Wired

I did a recreation of Francis Bacon’s Figure with Meat a 51 x 48 inch oil painting on canvas. I have always been a big fan of Bacon’s work which made this assignment easier to handle. This will be my second time using photoshop and i think i did a fairly good job. I used layering, filters, magic wand, and some brush work to create this piece. I felt it as an overall success looking forward to using photoshop in some of my future work.

Hey everyone my name is Andrew Ghrist, i was raised in northern california but am currently going to school in Chicago at SAIC. I am an artist with a focus on oil paintings. I currently have been doing work that consists of photo realistic portraiture. I paint my friends and family and show insight into my relationships with them through my painting. I love what i do am excited to be attending SAIC to build my skill level and hopefully meet some interesting people on the way.
